Maharashtra Tourism: One day picnic place, Weekend getaway, Hill station, Tourist place ,Water falls around Pune and Mumbai, Place near Lonavala

One Day weekend Trip from Thokarwadi Dam to Khandi waterfall and Lalwadi Waterfall

Distance from Pune to Khandi waterfall is approximately 78 Km, 2-hour drive.

To reach Thokarwadi Dam from Pune you have to take old Pune-Mumbai road & take a right turn from Kanhe phata, the Takve – Wadeshwar Road after crossing the railway gate will take you towards Khandi Waterfalls.

You can infact encircle the entire dam area from Khandi and circle around the backwaters of Thokarwadi dam, come back to village Takve and there to Kanhe Phata.

This place is so beautiful and with a scenic area with the dam in the centre and hills all around with its dense forest.

Continuous Rain turns the weather mystic, moist, pleasant and fresh.

You will notice lush green and paddy carpets lying over roadsides and mountains of Sahyadri’s.

The roads running at the base of the hills and numerous waterfalls doting the hills capes and can be visited by walking a few metres.

It feels like water carries white diamonds, running through lush green background, roaring, falling in necklace formations over mountains.

Roads are narrow and in a shabby state to motor around.

For food arrangement there are small local hotels at hardly 2 or 3 locations.
Its good if you bring your own food.

You can also visit a hill for a grand view and enjoy the fog.

You will face plenty of people crowding and spoiling nature.

Wherever you go bring your own sunshine!

Note: suggest everyone to visit during the time when it's raining.
